The Minister of State, Minister of Justice and Keeper of the Seals, Rose Mutombo Kiese and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) signed on Thursday, July 15, 2021, in Kinshasa, a project to support the fight against corruption in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The fight against corruption has become one of the priorities of the Sama Lukongo government.

To carry out this project, UNDP shows that its funding is spread over 4 years, 2021-2024 with a budget of 10,053,837 US dollars. Just over half of this sum is available and nearly 6,000,000 US dollars to be mobilized. This Project will also contribute to the assessment and capacity building of state actors. "As corruption is one of the most perpetrated and unre repressed criminal acts to the point of being erected into a system, its eradication must start from a clearly stated political will and must involve all levels of the country's hierarchy. This is how the President of the Republic, Head of State, His Excellency Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo had, during his inauguration, announced to the world, before the Congolese people, his firm commitment to strengthen the fight against corruption in the Democratic Republic of Congo and this, by calling on all the staff of the country's judicial system, especially the Magistrates who must, in all circumstances, render just and equitable justice without giving in to the temptation of corruption," Rose Mutombo said in her speech to her hosts. The signing ceremony took place in the presence of the Deputy Minister of Justice; the President of the Constitutional Court and the President of the Superior Council of the Judiciary; the Prosecutor General at the Court of Cassation, National President of the Bar; the Coordinator of the Agency for the Prevention and Fight against Corruption; Ambassadors and Heads of Diplomatic Missions accredited to Kinshasa.
