The Emerging Africa Infrastructure Fund, a PIDG member company, grants a €25 million loan to Ivoir Hydro Energy (IHE), a green hydroelectric project in Côte d'Ivoire. The new plant will be an important strategic economic asset for Ouattara's country.

The 18-year loan is a crucial support for the construction of a 44MW hydroelectric power plant in Côte d'Ivoire, on the Bandama River, near the village of Singrobo. The end of the financial year is expected at the end of the third  quarter of 2021. The construction time of this €174 million project is estimated at 36 months. A long-term power purchase agreement stipulates that all production from the Singrobo power plant will be sold to Compagnie Ivoirienne d'Électricité, the operator of Côte d'Ivoire's national grid. The new plant will be an important strategic economic asset for Côte d'Ivoire. In addition to increasing the country's production capacity, it will increase the flexibility of the system through its ability to provide basic power supply, but also to meet peaks in demand. The African Development Bank (AfDB), mandated as the main arranger of debt financing, will be a preferred creditor in its own name. In addition to the AfDB and EAIF, the other creditors are the German Investment and Development Corporation (DEG) and the Africa Finance Corporation (AFC). 25% of the project cost is financed from its own funds by shareholders IHE Holding, Africa Finance Corporation and DIPFA, an international investment platform in power generation projects owned by Denham Capital. Neo Themis SARL acts as an advisor and for the shareholders in the finalization of the development and financing agreements of the project.
