Nigerian Petroleum Minister Timipre Sylva calls for the creation of an African Energy Bank. An appeal launched during a visit by his Equatoguinean counterpart, Gabriel Obiang Lima to explore new opportunities for cooperation between the two countries.

Western states and their oil companies have set themselves the date of 2050 for carbon neutrality. In this vision, the Nigerian Minister of Petroleum, Timipre Sylva has called for the establishment of an African Energy Bank to support oil and natural gas investments on the continent. According to him, the creation of this African institution is important in a context where Western oil companies, which are the largest investors in the sector in Africa, are reducing their funding. The realization of this bank will promote synergy between African nations, because soon no other country will be willing to support Africa in this area.
