Hundreds of Congolese have been scammed by a fake bank known as Crédit Mutuel d'Afrique (Cremaf). This establishment operated between May and August 2021. Cremaf, a micro-finance establishment borrowed the same name as the one accredited by the State in 2013 to scam more than 600 Congolese citizens. This establishment guaranteed a profit of 200% of the savings deposited after 78 days. The plaintiffs claim more than 200 million FCFA (more than 304,000 euros). But the micro-credit institution is no longer able to repay.
