ARISE IIP, a pan-African developer and operator of world-class industrial parks, and FibreTrace, a world leader in fiber technology, announced yesterday Tuesday, November 23, 2021, a new pilot program dedicated to the traceability of the entire production chain, from cotton fibers to to clothes. It will be via spinning factories that ARISE IIP will install in the Glo-Djigbé Industrial Zone (GDIZ) in Benin during 2022.

The partnership concluded between ARISE IIP and FibreTrace should allow the first vertically integrated factories in the Republic of Benin to trace, verify and audit the life cycle of the garments that will come out of their production units, this throughout its course, either from the spinning mill to the store. It will also make it possible to share with the end consumer the entire journey of cotton from Benin. It is the added value brought to Beninese cotton which will be repositioned on the world market for white gold.

In its implementation, this partnership should enable Benin, by 2023, to have an installed processing capacity of 98,000 tons of fully traceable cotton fibers. garments will go live no later than standalone 2022. Due to the success of FibreTrace in other cotton regions, it is expected that this technology will be widely adopted across all sites and textile production units in Benin and in the sub-region.
