The leader of the national banking pool, Noellie Tiendrébéogo, and the general manager of SOFITEX, Wilfried Yaméogo, signed a financing agreement for the 2021-2022 cotton campaign. By initialing the documents, the members agree to make available to SOFITEX, within the framework of the 2021-2022 cotton campaign, a financial windfall in the amount of 70 billion CFA francs. This need expressed by the company is intended to finance the activities of collection, purchase of seed cotton from cotton growers, transport, ginning of seed cotton in the fifteen ginning factories and evacuation of the fiber to the different ports of embarkation. The SOFITEX zone expects a production of 450,000 tonnes of seed cotton. 191,250 tons of cotton fiber are also expected.
