More than 3500 delegates from around the world and more than 2000 local authorities are gathered in Kisumu, Kenya for the 9th edition of the Africities Summit. This event takes place around the role of intermediary cities.

During the 5 days, exchanges will be held around the theme of the summit: "The role of intermediary cities in Africa in the implementation of the United Nations 2030 Agenda and the African Union's Agenda 2063". The strategies and policies needed to counter the threats of radicalisation and terrorism, especially in urban areas, including our intermediary cities, will be at the heart of the exchanges. It will also review the legal and policy frameworks that need to be established in order to foster the robust and sustainable development of intermediary cities.
