The International Finance Corporation (IFC) has announced financial support of CFAF 10 billion to the Ivorian government. This support aims to implement a program to strengthen the cotton sector.

In its press release, the IFC states that the initiative aims to support the growth of the cotton value chain in Côte d'Ivoire and promote job creation throughout the sector. It also aims to support "long-term growth in Côte d'Ivoire by supporting local champions" in this sector of the economy.
