The member countries of the World Trade Organization (WTO) have agreed on a synergy of action to address the food crisis, which is evolving worristically and does not & Eacute; spares neither developed nor least-developed countries. On the occasion of the ^12th WTO Ministerial Conference (CM12) held in Geneva, an appeal was made accordingly.

The World Trade Organization is committed to prioritizing cooperation for the accessibility of food products. Meeting in Geneva from 12 to 15 June 2022, the ministers of the member states of the WTO, aware of the urgent need for a collective response to food insecurity, called on States to allow trade flows agri-food products and to waive the imposition of export prohibitions or restrictions in a manner inconsistent with the relevant WTO provisions.

For ministers, it is important to provide technical and financial assistance to the least developed countries (LDCs) and net food-importing developing countries (NPDINPA), including including through international and regional financial institutions, with a view to improving their agricultural production capacity, infrastructure and access to agricultural inputs.
