The Regional Off-Grid Electricity Access Project (ROGEAP) was launched on August 03, 2022 in Banjul, The Gambia, and on August 04, 2022 in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire. Renewable energy stakeholders from The Gambia and Côte d'Ivoire participated in workshops to officially launch the ROGEAP activities. The main objective of these two workshops was to present on the one hand the new structure of the ROGEAP project to the concerned actors and to sensitize them on the other hand to the establishment of the policy framework for the development of solar technologies and the Off-Grid PV Systems market respectively in The Gambia and in Côte d'Ivoire According to the ECOWAS Commission, ROGEAP, with an overall cost of USD 338.7 million, aims to increase access to sustainable electricity services in the 15 ECOWAS member states and 4 other African countries (Mauritania, Central African Republic, Chad and Cameroon) for households, commercial enterprises and public community health and education infrastructure through solar systems.
