The Congolese Ministry of Finance announced on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, the opening of an auction of indexed Treasury Bonds, estimated at 225 billion CDF (112). $5.5 million) for a period of two years.

According to the ministry's press release, these financial securities will be granted at an interest rate of 10% per year, and for 4 interest payments during the year. Whereas the principal will be repaid every 6 months. Subscribers are required to submit their submissions to the Central Bank of Congo this Tuesday, August 16 before 11 am. As for the subscription regulations, they will be made on Friday, August 19, 2022. It should be recalled that in October 2019, the Congolese government launched Treasury Bonds to diversify its sources of financing in order to meet its still high public spending.

Following the Treasury Bills, the government also started to issue Indexed Treasury Bonds, that is, although issued and subscribed in francs Congolese, these securities are repaid at maturity at their indexed value in dollars at the time of subscription.
