The two flagship indices of the Regional Stock Exchange (BRVM) ended the trading day on August 17, 2022 in the red zone.

The composite index (general stock market index) thus fell by 0.53% to 206.88 points against 207.99 points the day before. As for the BRVM 10 index (index of the 10 leading stocks), it recorded a drop of 0.57% to 162.64 points compared with 163.58 points the day before. This drop in the indices, particularly the BRVM composite, had a negative impact on the capitalization of the equity market, which stood at 6227.409 billion FCFA compared with 6260.998 billion FCFA the day before, a drop of 33.589 billion. On the other hand, the bond market rose by 1.43 billion to 8083.522 billion FCFA against 8082.092 billion FCFA the day before. The total value of the transactions is only 185.825 million FCFA compared to 417.930 million FCFA the day before.
