The decision taken by Western Union today is to allow Malians to send and withdraw money. It is a decision that reinforces Western Union's commitment to Mali and to the movement of money across borders for the country's customers. Mohamed Touhami El Ouazzani, Western Union's Regional Vice President for Africa, said he was delighted with the relaunch. "We are delighted to relaunch our money transfer services linking Mali to ECOWAS. Money transfers are a lifeline for millions of people, and any interruption in service can impact the lives of customers and their families. Although we temporarily suspended our money transfer services in Mali to and from ECOWAS countries, we worked quickly to resume our services responsibly soon after the restrictions on the nation were lifted. "
