The legal experts of the platform of regulators of the member countries of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA) and Guinea held on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 in Niamey, a meeting to discuss the harmonization of radio frequency licensing fees within Space.

The main objective of the Niamey meeting is to conduct in-depth discussions with a view to harmonizing legislation on radio frequency licensing within of the UEMOA and Guinea Regulators Platform. Thus, the participants in this meeting attended a conference focused on audiovisual licensing in the UEMOA area, issues and challenges, and also on audiovisual licensing in French-speaking countries and in Europe. The experts also proposed “a method of recovering and using recovered resources in accordance with national legislation or those of certain UEMOA member countries, drawing on good practices” and finally to provide the platform with “a directive. municipality taking into account the tariff regime applicable to radio frequency charges.”
