On the occasion, the CPM raised two of the main key interest rates in order to contain galloping inflation, which could peak at 5.2% in December 2022 with an expected peak of 5.7% in 2023. The stability of the Economic and Monetary Community of Central Africa (CEAMC) is threatened by the upsurge in inflation. This requires urgent measures to reverse this upward trend.
