Monday, September 26 was the opening of a five-day international meeting on the adoption of a new cocoa agreement. The meeting took place in Côte d'Ivoire, the world's leading cocoa-producing country, and was initiated by the International Cocoa Organization (ICCO) based in Abidjan, according to an international media report released on Tuesday.

The international meeting which lasts five days has gathered about sixty delegations of ICCO member countries and is held for the first time in person for three years because of the new coronavirus pandemic. During these meetings, several points are discussed. These are the adoption of a new international agreement on cocoa, the examination of a study on the African Cocoa Exchange, a continental cocoa exchange, without forgetting the preparations for the fiftieth anniversary of the organization and the upcoming holding of a panel on cocoa.
