The police, in their fight against insecurity, have dismantled a theft network. 03 people were arrested by Togolese security forces for possession of eight hundred sixty thousand (860,000) in counterfeit CFA francs.

Published on the Togolese police Facebook page, an information note mentions that a trio of counterfeiters have been arrested. This same note explained the counterfeiter's modus operandi. According to the note, outlaws spend most of the time at night. According to the Togolese police, “On the night of August 26, 2022, these individuals showed up at a service station in Lomé, in a vehicle to pay for fuel. Once served, the man named AT. handed 04 counterfeit bills with 10,000 francs to the gas station attendant through the half-open window of the door and rushed off.” Thus, today's expenditure revealed the quality of the tickets used by this group of young people.

In addition, a complaint was therefore filed followed by an investigation carried out by the security forces. According to the note, following the investigations, the three counterfeiters were identified. The strip searches and the search of their homes allowed the police to discover several banknotes worth 10,000 CFA francs, for a total of eight hundred sixty thousand (860,000) in counterfeit CFA francs bills.
