As part of the Liberia Agricultural Sector Investment Plan (LASIP II) 2017 to 2025, the Liberia Special Agro Industrial Processing Zone Project (Liberia SAPZ) benefited from additional funding of $3 million from the African Development Bank (ADB).

Located in Buchanan, Grand Bassa County, the Liberia SAPZ project will be deployed over five years (2022-2026) and implemented by the Lib& National Investment Commission Exact; ria. This project aims to create jobs and stimulate exports, create an Agri Hub, and attract private sector investments in agribusiness to promote industrial transformation. The additional funding of $3 million complements the initial amount granted in October 2021 of $15.2 million in the form of loans and grants, also from the ADB, through the African Development Fund (ADF).
