The members of the Fund's Board of Directors Nationale de Prévoyance Sociale (CNPS) of Cameroon met on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at the Center International Conference of Mbalmayo (CICM). A session was held of strategic training dedicated to the guidelines of the Association International Social Security (ISSA) in terms of investments.

The training is part of the ongoing process of the CNPS aimed at professionalizing and optimizing the management of the funds of the social security. It was animated with technical support from Harvest Asset Management and aligns with the standards of the AISS, recognized as a international framework for governance, prudential management and of the performance of social protection systems.

Seven key principles were put forward by the ISSA reference document, for responsible and sustainable management of social funds. These include

- beliefs clear and documented investments,

- one robust governance ensuring a strict separation of roles between the Board admin,

- the committee investment and management,

- management rigorous risk analysis integrating scenario analysis and stress tests,

- one controlled diversification of portfolios,

- integration ESG/ISR criteria

- one transparent and regular reporting, as well as

- the due diligence in the internal management or outsourcing of funds.

These principles are particularly relevant for social security institutions, which must meet requirements specific in terms of liquidity, institutional risk management and accountability to citizens and public authorities.

Exchanges also have highlighted the specific recommendations made by the ISSA for African crates. They relate in particular to the consolidation of the independence of governance, the gradual diversification of assets, the definition of a controlled risk budget, prudent investment in national projects with a high social impact such as infrastructure, health or education, as well as on strengthening transparency through a regular and educational communication.
