For the period from 2014 to 2019, West Africa generated $10.2 billion in value under
private equity activities. It has risen to first place in the region ahead of North Africa,
Southern Africa, East Africa and Central Africa. In total, the African continent has over the period been the
location of 1,046 private equity transactions, for a total value of $25.3 billion,
