La West African Development Bank (BOAD) plans to organize the BOAD Development Days in Lomé, Togo, on June 12 and 13, 2025. It is an annual event aimed at rethinking development financing models in the face of the challenges of the 21st century.

Focusing on the theme “financing the energy transition and sustainable agriculture: challenges, opportunities and solutions”, BOAD Development Days is an exchange framework for development actors in West Africa. The event has a triple objective, it will be to raise awareness of major development issues, to highlight projects financed by BOAD and to strengthen partnerships. Through this meeting, the financial institution also seeks to promote exchanges of experiences with other regions of the world, in order to open up new perspectives in terms of financing and cooperation.

Two main areas structure the discussions. First, it will be a question of universal access to electricity in the context of UEMOA and the challenges of the energy transition, at a time when the region must combine economic growth and the reduction of its carbon footprint. Second, the discussions will address Lauemoa souveraineté alimentaire dans l' style="font-family: "Bookman Old Style”, serif"> through sustainable agriculture, a major challenge to ensure self-sufficiency while preserving natural resources.

BOAD Development Days will bring together financial institutions, businesses, civil society organizations , politicians and international experts for two days, who will explore innovative solutions. BOAD thus intends to strengthen its role as a catalyst for development by mobilizing the financing necessary for major economic and environmental transformations in the sub-region
