Nigerian Dr. Akinwumi A. Adesina will be sworn in on Tuesday for a second five-year term as President of the African Development Bank Group (AfDB), APS learned on Monday.

The investiture ceremony will take place at the headquarters of the institution, in Abidjan, announces a press release sent to the APS.

The event, which will be attended by heads of state, governors and external stakeholders, will take place by videoconference in compliance with the physical distancing guidelines linked to the Covid-19 pandemic, specifies the text.

President Adesina was re-elected to office following a unanimous vote by the institution's governors on Thursday, August 27 during the AfDB's 2020 Annual Meetings.
