The Minister of Planning and Development, Nialé Kaba, revealed that her department
Contributed to the mobilization of about 90 billion CFA francs from donors, with a view to
prepare the health, economic and humanitarian response plan, on the occasion of the press briefing related to
coronavirus held Saturday at Marcory.
"As part of the resource mobilizations, the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) has contributed to
30 billion CFA francs. The African Development Bank (AfDB) provided support
budget to the tune of 48 billion CFA francs. The United Nations system, for its part, has provided a
technical and financial assistance amounting to CFAF 12 billion. In total it is 90 billion FCFA that
have been mobilized to date," said Nialé Kaba.
This funding, she added, complements the contribution of other partners to the
development, including the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), stressing that
negotiations are continuing to mobilize more resources.
Nialé Kaba deplored the slowdown in the conduct of certain activities due to Covid-19,
in particular the general census of population and housing 2020, the suspension of classes at the School
National Statistics and Applied Economics (ENSEA) and the Survey of Indicators relating to the
situation of women and children.
Kaba Nialé also mentioned the postponement of the AfDB's Annual Meetings to August 2020. Ces
Meetings were scheduled for May 25 to 29 in Abidjan, it is recalled.
