The External Representative Office for Asia and the Macroeconomic Policy, Forecasting and Research Department  of the African Development Bank are hosting a webinar on September 14, 2020 on the "African Economic Outlook 2020" supplement for Asian audiences.

The African Economic Outlook (https://bit.ly/32YsMaZ) is the Bank's flagship report, which serves as a tool for economic information, policy dialogue and operational effectiveness.  This year, for the first time, the Bank is publishing a supplement to the original document, released in January 2020, to take into account the socio-economic impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Supplement revises the Bank's projections on growth and economic prospects for Africa in 2020 and 2021. It also highlights the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic on Africa's socio-economic situation and makes recommendations on viable policy responses to safely reopen economies and accelerate the resumption of growth on the continent.

This webinar aims to draw the attention of the Asian market to the latest economic developments and trends in Africa as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic and will foster dialogue between Bank specialists and Asian experts on the findings and suggestions made in the document.

It will also explore opportunities to strengthen collaboration between Africa and Asia. The report's findings will be disseminated to a wider range of Asian stakeholders, including policymakers, African diplomats based in Asia, regional development organizations and civil society.
