The deputies of the Commission for Economic and Financial Affairs of the
Ivorian parliament unanimously adopted on Thursday (25 votes out of 25 present), the draft program budget
2020 of the Ministry to the Prime Minister in charge of the promotion of private investment which amounts to
more than 11 billion FCFA.
The first person in charge of this ministerial department, Esmel Emmanuel Essis who presented to the
parliamentarians, the major actions of this ministry in 2020, underlined, among other things, that this 2020 budget of
his ministry, which has a total cost of more than 11.213 billion FCFA, has two programs. It's about
a general administration program and another concerning private investment and entrepreneurship.
The objective of program 2, underlined by Mr. Essis in particular, is to increase private investment in the
contribution to Gross Domestic Product (GDP), increase foreign direct investment, promote
national entrepreneurship and improvement of the business climate.
Previously, he reminded the national representation of the main missions of his ministry which consist
mainly to promote the domestic private sector and foreign private investment. The
Ivorian parliamentarians have been analyzing since Tuesday the draft 2020 budget of the State of Côte d'Ivoire, which amounts
to 8061 billion FCFA.
To this end, the ministers follow one another before these deputies to present the draft budget of their
respective ministerial departments for the 2020 financial year. From January 1, 2020, Côte d'Ivoire,
remember, will switch to program-budget mode.
