"We will ensure that the potential of Africa's youth is fully unleashed," promises Dr. Akinwumu Adesina, re-elected on August 27 as President of the African Development Bank for 5 years.

In this regard, the Nigerian who delivered his speech at his inauguration adds that the AfDB will support the creation of investment banks for young entrepreneurs. These banks, he says, will help mobilize and deploy capital to boost the entrepreneurial spirit of Africa's youth, in a systemic, scalable and sustainable way.

In the aftermath, he says the looming shadow of youth unemployment and migration out of Africa must give way to a rainbow of successful youth-led businesses across Africa. Dr. Adesina argues. Saying that it (African youth) must develop Africa and shape its future.

In this sense, he promises again: "We will build on the great successes we have achieved in the field of agriculture, by disseminating technologies that will help tens of millions of farmers, and by contributing to the construction of competitive agricultural value chains."

Also, he continues, we will add value to what we produce in Africa and offer opportunities for creativity and technology that will facilitate the massive engagement of young people in agriculture and agribusiness.
