The Société d'Investigation et de Promotion de l'Industrie (SIPI-Benin) and the National Federation of Cashew Producers of Benin (FENAPAB) signed a memorandum of understanding on Thursday, Thursday, December 8, 2022 at the Glo-Djigbé Industrial Zone (GDIZ).

The final aim of the MoU is to secure raw material. Thus, according to the Director General of SIPI Benin SA, Létondji Béon, they plan to “work to strengthen the capacity of the members of the federation.” As a result, the various parties will work “to increase yields” so that the factories that will be set up in the area can have something to transform. Thus, this collaboration between these two new partners concerns four elements. These include the provision of technical support and the training of cashew value chain actors to improve the production, traceability and quality of raw cashew nuts.

This same collaboration concerns support for the mobilization of funding for actors in the cashew value chain. It will facilitate the creation of model farms to promote producers' awareness of respect for good agricultural practices and the adoption of new interventions.
