The annual report of the Cameroon Insurance Association (ASAC) mentions that the performance of the insurance market increased by 8.70% compared to the 211.43 billion generated in 2020.

The insurance penetration rate in Cameroon remained low at 0.9% in 2021. Indeed, non-life insurance companies, with 152.56 billion in premiums, accounted for 66.38% of turnover, with an increase of 11.79 billion per segment. This progress is attributed mainly to the Personal Accidents & Illness and Motor Vehicle Liability categories. They had an increase of 11.98 billion in their turnover compared to 2020. As for life insurance companies, they represent 33.62% of the market share with 77.27 billion in premiums during the period under review.
