The government will receive new funding to implement the Kiffa Drinking Water Supply Project (AEP). The AEP in Kiffa, in southern Mauritania, will thus be financed to the tune of 40 million dollars.

The financing project was unveiled on 15 December 2022 by the intergovernmental institution for development finance, based in Vienna, Austria. Indeed, the Mauritanian government has requested a loan from the Board of Directors of the OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID). He will thus receive new funding for the implementation of the Kiffa Drinking Water Supply Project (AEP). The 40 million dollar loan will thus be granted by the OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID).

Like the Islamic Development Bank (IDB), the Saudi Development Fund (FSD), the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF), the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (FKDEA), the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development Development (ADFD) and the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development (Fades), OFID thus joins the panoply of development partners in the drinking water project.
