A recently published decree mentioned that a decision to dissolve the National Solidarity Support Fund was taken by the government during its ordinary session of the Council of Ministers on Wednesday, October 19, 2022.

The Fund was dissolved by a decree signed by the Head of State, Patrice Talon. This decree was issued on the joint proposal of the Minister of the Economy and Finance and the Minister of Social Affairs. The National Solidarity Support Fund is a public social institution whose statutes were approved by decree dated November 27, 2019. It is endowed with legal personality and financial autonomy. This institution is under the supervision of the Ministry in charge of Social Affairs and Microfinance.

Its mission was to “carry out actions to combat vulnerability, extreme poverty and social exclusion, to promote the rehabilitation and social integration of people with disabilities and to contribute to the empowerment & economic status of women, in accordance with the vision and strategies of the Government.”

Noted that the reasons for the dissolution of the National Solidarity Support Fund are not known at the moment.
