At the end of their work at the 2nd Dakar Summit on Infrastructure Financing in Africa, participants stressed the need for Africa to rely primarily on its internal investments to develop its infrastructure and achieve d economic development.

The Dakar Declaration asks the African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD) to submit a report on the progress of infrastructure projects at the next African Union (AU) summit. Indeed, development finance institutions, the governments of African countries, and international partners are invited to increase their support and financing for infrastructure projects.

According to the Director of Infrastructure at the Ministry of Land Transport of Senegal, Mamoudou Alassane Camara, “it is imperative today to give new impetus to Algerian-Senegalese relations through the diversification of cooperation and partnership between the two countries within the framework of South-South cooperation and development infrastructures without forgetting capacity building in the field of transport, especially rail transport.”
