Despite efforts to introduce new plants and to make agricultural inputs and seeds available through the Société de Développement de Cacao (Sodecao), the situation remains mixed. Production has increased over the past ten years, but it is not yet sufficient to reach the expected objective of producing 600,000 tons of cocoa per year since 2020. Noted that domestic production is currently around 300,000 tons.
