Through the construction by the Franco-British firm Perenco of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) production unit, an upheaval is expected in the gas sector in Gabon in the coming years. An investment is estimated at more than 617 billion CFA francs (1 billion dollars), the construction of which will be spread over three years. Work should start during the year, as the Gabonese State has already given its agreement for the development of the said project.
