Le On Monday, February 27, 2023, sources close to the Russian oil company Lukoil revealed that the company wants to sell the 38% stake it holds in the p field Pecan oil tanker located in deep water, off the coast of Ghana.

The transaction under which Lukoil will sell the 38% stake takes place in a tense context between the company and Aker Energy, a subsidiary of the Norwegian conglomerate Aker, which holds 50% of the operational interests in the field. Indeed, according to Oeyvind Eriksen, the CEO of Aker ASA, if the development plan for the Pecan field, discovered in 2012, is delayed because of fears raised by the Russian company's presence on this project. Although Lukoil is not directly subject to European sanctions, the threat of these sanctions cannot be ruled out.
