In partnership with ECOWAS and African countries, the World Bank (Bm) launched and financed a “regional electricity access and battery energy storage project called “BEST”. A regional supervision meeting was opened in the presence of representatives of the World Bank, ECOWAS, and the Senegalese authorities in charge of finance and electricity on Monday, March 6.

Access to sufficient and affordable energy is a luxury for many Africans. This is increasingly becoming a reality in rural areas where nearly half of the population lives. In addition to being essential to the creation and development of economies in Africa, electricity is also for domestic use. The project financed by the Bm and its partners allows more than 1000 villages to improve their access to energy in quantity.
