With the aim of providing access to electricity via solar photovoltaic systems to 200 new rural localities in Cameroon, the government, in collaboration with the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank), is signing an agreement for financing of the order of 35 billion FCFA (about 57 million US dollars). It was launched in 2016 by the government and its Chinese partner, Huawei Technology.
