For a decade, gold production in Ivory Coast has been on an upward slope. It reached about 48 tons in 2022. According to a document from the Ivorian Ministry of Mines, Petroleum and Energy, released on March 15, this is a new record for the West African country, which thus recorded an increase of more than 14% year-on-year.

Ivorian gold production is dominated by industrial exploitation. It is generally driven by three companies based in Canada and Australia that represented around 25 tons of gold in 2022, or more than half of total production. Indeed, Barrick, based in Canada, produced 000 onces (5,7 tonnes) 201 style="font-family: "Bookman Old Style”, "serif"> Tongon while the Australian Perseus Mining Produced 9.86 347 ounces (environ 10 tonnes) sur ses deux mines Yaouré et Sissingué, contre 313 000 ounces (about 9 tons) for the Canadian Endeavour at Ity. Gold production is expected to reach 50 tons this year thanks to the entry into service of two new mines, namely Tietto Minerals who started production in January 2023 in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, and Fortuna Silver, which aims to start production later this year in Senegal.
