On the evening of Thursday, March 23, 2023, the Food Safety Commission (CSA) launched Operation Ramadan for the year 2023. An operation supervised by the Commissioner for Food Safety, Fatimetou Mint Khattri.

Operation Ramadan for the year 2023 is implemented by the Food Safety Commissioner (CSA). It aims to provide basic foodstuffs at subsidized prices during the holy month to the poorest populations. Indeed, according to the Commissioner, this operation is part of the policy implemented by the government of the Prime Minister, Mohamed Bilal Messoud, and which reflects the commitments of the President of the Republic, Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani. This policy is to be close to the citizen, to serve him, and to lighten the burden on him, especially during this sacred month. This year the government expanded Operation Ramadan, increasing its retail outlets and adding new products, such as fish, vegetables, and meat.
