On Sunday, April 9, 2023, the national anti-fraud coordination seized 13 vehicles in Ouagadougou, each carrying an average of 105 boxes of fraudulent chickens, worth an estimated 100 million CFA francs.

The operation to seize 13 vehicles that took place on the 9th was the result of the operation carried out by the National Anti-Fraud Coordination on the night of 8 April 2023 in Kombissiri. The national anti-fraud coordinator announced that “this is a large-scale seizure because it concerns 13 vehicles..., personal vehicles that are not suitable for transporting this type of goods. According to him, these types of vehicles are not only intended for the transport of these goods but also for the transport of all types of goods that are prohibited, including explosives.

The Burkinabe authorities consider that these products do not meet the consumer and hygiene standards listed at the national level, which is why they are qualified as products unfit for consumption. “We are around 10 tons of frozen chickens seized” he notified.
