This contract is in response to the decision of the Burkinabe government to authorize the transfer of mining assets for the industrial exploitation of manganese in Tambao and the large gold mine of Inata to the Afro Turk company through a direct agreement procedure adopted by the Council of Ministers on March 1, 2023
.The signing of the contract marks a franchise by the Burkinabe State and the Turkish extractive company. Indeed, the Burkinabe State sold manganese from Tambao to Afro Turk for 28 billion CFA francs and the Inata gold mine for 2 billion francs, or a total of 30 billion CFA francs, according to the explanations of the minister in charge of mines, Simon-Pierre Boussim. For the minister, “this signature will allow these companies to own these mining assets. At the current stage, with this signature, companies are not initially authorized to operate. They will therefore update the technical and economic studies and file an application so that we can authorize their exploitation
