After two attempts to use the scope of a Private Notice Question (PNQ) to corner the government on the failings of the Mauritian sector in the financial services sector, the Labor Party (PTr) does not intend to give up the game. This is what Arvin Boolell, leader of the opposition, suggested yesterday morning during a press conference of the Reds. On the agenda: an approach to operators in the sector to encourage them not to take lightly the repercussions on the jurisdiction following the appearance of the name of Mauritius on a "grey list", heralding strategic deficiencies in relation to money laundering money. One of them refers to the country's inability to provide, on request, clear information as to the identity of the final beneficiaries of investment projects that materialize in Mauritius. Arvin Boolell believes that it is not forbidden to imagine that the sequel would be a place on the FATF blacklist. For him, the time has come to build a common force at the level of operators and stakeholders in the financial services sector.
