L'agence de notation S&P Global Ratings announced that the Beninese economy has shown resilience. It is thus expected that its GDP growth will exceed 6.0% per year on average over 2023-2026 on the back of a government development plan. Spending pressures could limit fiscal flexibility without the anticipated increase in government revenue, although solid economic activity and donor support should lead to a reduction in the currently high fiscal imbalances. Benin's rating is the subject of some publications the restrictions set out in Article 8a of the EU regulation on agencies of credit scoring, including publication according to a pre-established schedule

The stable outlook reflects the expectation that, despite current headwinds and economic uncertainty, Benin's fiscal and external imbalances should improve over the coming years. The national economy will continue to grow in the medium term, supported by the government's economic and fiscal reform program.
