The West African Development Bank (BOAD) and Compagnie Béninoise de Production Polypropylene (CBPP) signed a loan agreement on Wednesday 14 June 2023 at the Golden Tulip Hotel. The solid waste recovery and regeneration plant (Valdeo) is supported by the CBPP. At an ordinary session on Monday, May 8, 2023, the BOAD Board of Directors approved a loan of 5 billion CFA francs to partially finance this project. This Wednesday, June 14, the two parties signed the loan agreement.

The Valdeo project, led by Compagnie Béninoise de Production Polypropylene (CBPP), aims to contribute to the economic growth of Benin through the development of a solid waste recovery sector. Among other things, it will improve the contribution of the circular economy to the creation of national wealth.

The solid waste recovery and regeneration plant (Valdeo) will be built on 6000 square meters (on a 4-hectare site) in Ahozon, commune of Ouidah. Valdeo also presents itself as a foundation that will carry out actions for the benefit of various targets, namely: women, young people and people with disabilities. Interventions will focus on providing women with the necessary equipment, the health of waste collectors, the financial autonomy of women, the integration of people with disabilities, the training of young people,
