Mobilized around the theme: “Uses of data and artificial intelligence in traditional African industries”, professionals, amateurs and enthusiasts of data and artificial intelligence participated in the first edition of the Africa Data Summit 2023 in Cotonou on Wednesday 14 June.

According to Ouanilo Médégan, founder of Epitech Benin, Benin needs a new generation of data and AI professionals in a context where the world is facing new paradigms. Representing the Minister for Digital Affairs and Digitalization, Rémi Oké, Director of Digital Affairs, welcomes the holding of this event, initiated a few months after the government of President Patrice Talon adopted the National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence and Big Data. He takes this opportunity to express his gratitude to the Isheroo Association for its investment in the blossoming of the data and AI ecosystem. He encourages young people and especially women who have embraced this field and urges them to build lasting relationships in order to take better advantage of this initiative
