The net income of Tractafric Motors Côte d'Ivoire (TMC), a motor vehicle importer and distributor, fell by 32.7% at the end of the first quarter of 2023 compared with the first quarter of 2022. This result stood at 848.248 million FCFA compared to 1.260 billion FCFA

in 2022.

Regarding turnover, it increased by 4.151 billion, standing at 21.228 billion FCFA compared to 17.076 billion FCFA in the first quarter of 2022. According to TMC management, this performance is driven by the company's main activities (+27% on sales of new vehicles, +15% on sales of parts and

services).

During the period under review, the overall automotive market (passenger cars and industrial vehicles) in Côte d'Ivoire recorded an increase of 38% with 7,489 new vehicles sold compared with 5,432 vehicles sold in the first quarter of 2022. As an explanation for this increase, the management of TMC cited the growth in the AB segment (compact and entry-level vehicles), which doubled between the first quarter of 2023 and the first quarter of 2022, driven by the development of the taxi fleet, mainly in Suzuki vehicles
