The governor of the Bank of Ghana (BoG) noted that increasing gold reserves helps diversify reserve assets and contributes to improving the risk-adjusted returns of the reserve portfolio. For him, regarding the sources of gold in the reserve, mining companies contributed about 80% and the remaining 20% came from the artisanal and small-scale mining sector via an approved aggregator
