MobileMoney Limited (MML) and the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), have signed a memorandum of understanding with the aim of combating mobile money fraud and related issues.

MobileMoney Limited (MML) is the mobile payment subsidiary of telecom operator MTN Ghana, while the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) is a government agency specializing in the control and investigation of economic crime and organized in Ghana. Their partnership aims to combat mobile money fraud and related issues in Ghana. Both partners intend to implement strict and rigorous measures to combat the scourge. They will also strengthen the education of the Ghanaian public about Mobile Money fraud and other related issues

The signing took place in a context of digital transformation marked by the acceleration of the adoption of mobile payment services such as MTN Mobile Money, among other digital services.
