En collaboration avec Ericsson as part of the Ericsson Product Take-Back program, MTN Benin has treated more than 123 tons of electronic equipment waste (WEEE). This treatment took place thanks to Ericsson's expertise

.

The partnership with Ericsson has enabled MTN Benin to strengthen its commitment to “Road to Zero” and its environmental, social and governance (ESG) commitments to advance responsible climate action and environmental preservation in Africa. Indeed, the two partners have teamed up as part of Ericsson's Product Take-Bake program to recycle end-of-life electronic and electrical equipment. This collaboration is part of MTN's “Road to Zero” commitment, which seeks to reduce its carbon footprint and mitigate the negative effects of climate change by 2040

.

For its part, Ericsson ensures that decommissioned network equipment is recycled by Ericsson-approved recyclers in South Africa, and MTN Benin obtains destruction certificates that ensure the safe disposal of the equipment safety.
