During the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), the Arab Society for Services filed a complaint against the Mauritanian Customs.

The Arab Company for Services accuses the Mauritanian Customs of having detained its cement shipment at the Nouadhibou Free Zone for failure to pay customs taxes. The Company claimed to have obtained a license from the Mauritanian Ministry of Commerce to import 5,000 tons of cement. She thus accused the Mauritanian Customs of trying to “put it in a non-competitive position at the service of a competitor who has influence in decision-making circles

”.
