The pound remained stable at $1,2283 against the dollar and fell 0.1% against the euro to 86.40, giving sterling traders some respite from the strong price swings seen at the start of the week. It is approaching its highest level in three weeks against the dollar and the euro. This increase is explained in part by the fact that investors have reassessed their forecasts for American interest rates and the eurozone's growth prospects, rather than by a particular factor linked to the United Kingdom
